Otoplasty

Otoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to correct the appearance of protruding or misshapen ears, also known as "bat ears". It is a common procedure for children starting at school age, but can be done at any age. The surgery can be performed under local or general anesthesia depending on the patient's age and preference, and typically takes around 1-1.5 hours to complete.

The incisions are made behind the ear, so the resulting scars are hidden from view. After the surgery, it is recommended to wear a headband to protect the ears and aid in the healing process.
